@MARIANA: Sorry Mariana, didn't mean to create any negative feelings here. Just wanted to display my take on an old religious culture.
My wife and I were discussing after Thaipusam that while we thought the piercings looked painful, there are, nowadays, many youngsters or even body-art collectors who have pierced more sensitive parts of their bodies and with larger-than-life needles.
I hope in this light, you would be able to look pass the pain and see the photos for what they are... Thanks!
Love the focus of this and the detail on the metalwork.

Larry, all I wanted to say was that image was very, very strong , and since it invoked a lot of feelings at me while looking at it , of course it was / is an excellent shot .
I know a lot about piercings, and know how fashion it is but at the same time not so desired .
Sorry for not expressing my opinion on a more clear way .
I also hate when get a comment on some portrait of not so good looking old man / woman , such as OUCH !!!
